In Memory of Matthew "Sam" King

Matthew "Sam" King founded Kings Tire Service in 1970. He started out working two jobs. He was a full-time coal miner and a business man. During his time away from the mine he worked at his station.

Sam was born on October 1, 1935 in the small coal mining town of McComas WV. He grew up and married the love of his life Judy. He and Judy had two sons together, Ed and Matt.

Once Sam was able to devote all of his time to Kings Tire he was a fixture behind the counter at his very first location in Bluewell WV. Sam was very involved in the community. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Sam King was absolutely one of a kind.

On March 15, 2016 we had to say good-bye to our beloved Sam. We hold true to his beliefs of taking care of the customer and making sure that we always do the right thing. At the time of his passing Kings Tire had grown to 9 locations over West Virginia and Virginia. We can only hope that we are continuing to make him proud as we continue to on in his legacy. We have gotten a little bigger and increased to 14 locations over the past few years in the 2 Virginias.

To know Sam King was to love him....
